summer is here!

I got through all of that end of the year stuff....Field Day, parties, report cards! Now we get to enjoy some time off! The water park, museums, galleries and other fun activities! The kids and I are really looking forward to fun filled summer...

Painting is on that list too,. Orion wants to paint a castle on a canvas and Kyra just wants to paint! I will be getting ready for 3 shows coming up in the fall. Will post more later....have a great day!

busy, busy, busy

I have spent the week running here and there...dropping art off, picking art up, delivering here and there. I have had very little time to paint! Thank God I have almost a month before the Carnegie Art Walk, I need to replenish my inventory. I did get new supplies today...that's always fun. Canvases, paint brushes and paint, I got some of everything!
I'm really looking forward to the art show tomorrow night at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center! It's going to be amazing!
I'm hoping to get some painting done tomorrow and maybe over the weekend too. I'll post picks of my new stuff, when I get something done. :)

Monday

After a grueling work out in the gym, i unloaded all the stuff from the show...then went home and did laundry. I won't be back in the studio til Wednesday. Tomorrow is Huntsville Botanical Gardens with kindergarteners! fun! fun!

I have lots of new stuff sketched out and I'm anxious to get started!

rained out

It was pouring down rain when I got to Florence this morning. When I checked radar, it looked like it would rain most of the day with periods of clearing. Unfortunately, my art can't stand up to getting rained on and my tent was already leaking...so, I packed up and went home.

The next show coming up is June the 19th...the Carnegie Art Walk in Decatur! I'm really looking forward to it!

Home sweet home

It was a long, hot day at the Arts Alive Festival....very successful and worth the effort though. Because of threatening rain, I had to take the whole space down for the night and tuck the art work safely in my Expedition. Tomorrow is another day and I will be setting up all over again...phew...I was pretty stinky after today, maybe if it rains it will be cooler tomorrow.

Florence is such a lovely town and the people there are so wonderful...the Rosie's restaurant in town brought us all free ice cream...what a lovely treat, and much needed with the hot weather and all...

Arts Alive

Here I am hanging out in Florence, Alabama at the Arts Alive Festival...watching all the lovely people go by..saw two dogs that were horses in another life! HUGE! Haven't sold anything yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. This is a two day show after all, and I'm not even two hours in...bored out of my mind! Thank God for laptop computers or I'd be truly miserable! Will check in later.

busy day ahead

After getting very little sleep last night, I waved to the gym as I drove by and turned into Starbucks instead. Now, if only I can keep my energy up enough to load up the Expedition with the booth for the art show this weekend...I may end up eating my way through the day just to keep myself awake!

my day got better!

Ok, after a rough beginning of the day, things definitely got better as the day wore on...I saw my lovely friend Lucinda, whom I have been missing and haven't seen in awhile...and, I got a Verizon net book for my studio! My previous studio computer died a cruel and horrible death!

Tomorrow I have soooo much to do in preparation for the Arts Alive show in Florence this weekend...please, pray that we don't get thunderstormed out!!! My kids don't know what to do with the idea that I won't be home all day Saturday and Sunday....I guess it's time to break them in.

Wednesday

totally bummed that my camera didn't come in today..oh and i varnished a painting that wasn't dry yet...rough day so far!

I love it when I touch my daughter's cheek and she's sound asleep, she smiles a sweet, sweet smile.....life's little wonders.

Today is day of gathering, I will be the proverbial squirrel and I go to various places collecting the pieces for the show in Florence this weekend... :)

The Next Great Artist

This a new show coming to bravo in June...it called "The Next Great Artist"...14 artists will compete in all different mediums. I can't wait to see it and wonder if I'll be inspired to compete along with them in my own studio...how fun!

Camera

Yes, my camera died. However, I have a new one on the way. It should be here tomorrow and I can't wait. I have missed it terribly. I will post pictures of my new Jesus paintings as soon as I get it.

Also, I am getting geared up for the Arts Alive art festival in Florence this weekend. 9-5 Saturday, and 9-5 Sunday....phew. I hope the weather holds out!

I have some new angels too...funny, while my camera was unreachable, I did some really different stuff. Inspiration from on high!
